This course covers customer services skills along with attending and providing quality pharmaceutical services to patients. Learning how to manage and deal with patients with different illnesses, temperaments, and needs will be discussed. Emphasis will be given to how pharmacy technicians communicate and provide pharmaceutical services to older population. In addition, this course will increase the student’s awareness of the importance of effective communication skills with patients, pharmacists, and members of the medical team.

This course will provide the student with a review of the classification of drugs used to categorize drugs. The student will also become familiar with the most commonly prescribed drugs in each category and will obtain knowledge about the basic pharmacology, drug classification, generic and trade names, uses, adverse effects and drug interactions.
